Aftermarket Gauge cluster

I'm getting back into the mustang game, planning on buying my next project car in the next couple of months after about a 3/4 year hiatus. The whole point of my project is to do thing right, the first time.

I've come to the subject of gauges. The stock gauges won't cut it, and I've always loved the look of the black bezel/white face Phantoms.

Short of completely rewiring each gauges, I think I may work into the stock wiring. However, the t taps aren't how I want to do it. I don't mind clipping the old plugs, but what are my choices for plugs? I'd like to simplify the cluster, soldering 1/2 plugs (similar to stock) for easy install/removal. Better yet, is there a female plug that I can clip onto the stock male piece? (I can re pin it, but I need a physical plug)

Also, sending units, which would you suggest to upgrade? I only have experience with the water temp and oil pressure, and I plan on running 6 gauges (Spedo, RPM, water, oil, volts, fuel). I want to get the most out of my gauges (accuracy).

If there's nothing really going to fit my needs, I'm just going to wire each gauge, but I would still like suggestions on plugs for behind the dash for a clean install.

I had a florida 50 gauge cluster in my 91 gt. It was a wire nightmare

i would start off with a gauge cluster kit like from florida 5.0 , then look at some of these diy wiring sites and create your own plug and play harness for a simple one plug removal when you need to take the cluster out for whatever reason.

What's your thoughts on reusing the stock wiring? Figure it's 20+ years old, but if I test all the wires we should be good (aka accurate) with new sending units.

The harness will be out of the car to be cleaned, checked, and re-wrapped, so rewiring isn't totally out of the question. Especially considering I'll be calling in a favor from a buddy to do it.

I just don't want to go through a whole process (waste a favor) if it's simply going to make no difference.
