Aftermarket Hoods

Because I don't really like how the stock GT hood is on my 04, I've been looking at some aftermarket hoods. I'd love to get the 03-04 cobra hood but I hear you can only get it with the cobra front bumper which I dont want to do. Anyone know if I can get a cobra hood that doesnt require the aftermarket front bumper? Next hood I was looking at is the 03-04 saleen heat extractor hood but its kinda pricey. Then there's the stalker ram air hood I thought about but not sure cuz it seems maybe a bit ricey. Any advice?

You don't need a cobra front bumper to make the cobra hood fit. The 03-04 cobra hood is a perfect fit with the GT bumper.

The fitament problem you are thinking of is trying to fit a cobra bumper with a GT hood.. the GT hood will hang way over the fascia.

Age Classic Designs has an 03-04 cobra style hood specifically for the 99-04 GT's. It's I believe 465 shipped... I haven't received any e-mail responses from them when I've tried to ask questions, so I don't know what its made of, or if it includes a hood blanket or not.

I was looking at cervinis and they say I need the front bumper of the cobra to match....

Well, that's Cervinis. If you buy a 03-04 cobra hood from an 03-04 cobra, from a ford dealer, on ebay, etc, it'll fit.

I've seen at least 2 or 3 GT's w/ the 03/04 cobra bumper and stock GT hood. But I dunno?? It looked alright to me, but I didn't look at it in much detail.

I don't think it is that big of a deal - my understanding of the issue is that it creates a slight gap between the two 'posts' (that makeup the sides of the grill opening) and the hood. But it's minor.
