Hi all. I just got the II out of winter storage this weekend. Jeez she Haulz @$$!!!

But my old 6-cyl tach wont work with the 8, and I need a good tach. So Im wondering about finding a neat lil aftermarket one that will fit in where the ole one is. Anyone done this?? any size, depth specs so that I dont have to ruin that circuit board??
Ive seen one of the .org pics that put a whole 5"er in there, but thats too much for me.

You can always put the correct module on the tach,they still are available.

I had hoped that was true, but thats only for the 4-cyl. The V6 is a totally different setup. (so Ive heard)

Also, I cant even find the green wires that should go to the coil. (wiring is trashed) so I think its easier to just go with another setup. And, white face guages are just SOOOOO cool.

WOW!!! That is pretty "trick" What kind of guages are those?? Im guessing the phantom series, but they look great. Luckily, I have a couple of extra Guage clusters, so Ill get a couple of trial runs If I need em.

update...

Sweet, ......
I put it in last night. It looks quite okay, but Im not too hot on a white tach with a bunch of other Black guages. Fairly easy too.

It was bittersweet to cut into that dash. I mean, my prototype was all oxidized and crumbling. But the final dash ('74, origional) was in the greatest shape I had ever seen. Only a little discoloration in the warning lights.
I was thinkin (while I was hackin) about how this thing would sell for a boatload to a purist.

ah well,
Now I guess its onto white overlays for the other guages. Does anyone have pics of those (in the dark, with the dash lights on)????
are they bright enough to see well at night??

and also, can I move the speedo needle about 90* clockwise?? I'd like to change the orientation of the speedo now (might be interesting to do)

Autometer ultra light gauges. I was gonna go with a whiter gauge, but the silver ultra light gauges seem a bit more umm.... "classy" for lack of a better term.
