Would it be worth the money to just get an aftermarket intake manifold or would be almost the same gain, and cheaper, to just port and polish the stock intake? I am definatly doing the heads this winter, possibly a cam. I know the intake is a major bottleneck and would be VERY worthwhile to do, but I also need to watch the budget (poor college student here). Any help/comments/suggestions are welcome!!

Waste of money to port the stock intake IF you have bigger plans.
A TFS Street heat is like 395.00 from Summit.
You COULD go Explorer and port that if you are on a budget, but just keep the 395.00 in mind before you commit....
I don't believe you would see anywhere near the same gains on a ported stock intake.
H/C/I changes are likely going to need a tune. You need to think about that, too.....

I agree with Dennis

Since you got h/c/i in mind for your plans.

Pick an intake that will be capable of meeting your goals.

No sense in buying two intakes!
