Aftermarket Shifter Noise

I noticed with my MGW install, that i can hear the tranny whine when slowing down/downshifting a lot more than i used to. But thats all. I also have a shifter gasket and still notice it and thats only with the stereo off and windows up, pretty much pulling into my driveway. Normal driving, my exhaust is too loud to hear anything.

Hey Doc, I would complain directly to Ford about your experience. If they can't get you a OEM part, then they should help you get a different, aftermarket one. You have an '04 that is still fairly new, shouldn't have to put up with anything. If they asked me if it was driveable, I would have blew my top. That's just me, I wouldn't let it go. They charge too much money for vehicles to let that slide.

I have a little noise from my tri-ax. Mostly whining and the clicking sounds it makes when shifting. It's all good though. I can't hear it over music/windows down/pipes unless it's in the winter time.

I did call Ford directly, and that's the lady who asked if it was driveable. I haven't complained too bad to the dealer because I'm thinking its not really their fault. Although they've told me several times its been shipped or is being shipped, just to tell me it wasn't and is still on backorder. But according to dealer and Ford Co the parts come available but they don't have enough to fill all the orders, so the dates keep getting bumped as they go down the list. So, although the dealer shouldn't be telling me that, it really all comes down to Ford. Maybe I'll call them again tomorrow and not be so nice.

Wonder how much stock mid-pipe costs from Ford...I'm betting they'd charge me at least 500 bucks if I had to buy one myself.
