Hey guys my starter is definitally on borrowed time and I was already planning on buying a new one, but do they sound different than stock? Because Ive heard some cars start up and they sound sick, the stock 5.0 starters sound like toyotas or something, any info?

I got a new starter since mine died, now it rips off so quick I accidentaly hold it for a second to long and get that grinding noise.

Hmm, never paid that much attention to how it sounds. A high Torque mini is probably along the lines of what Zach is talkin about.

Good luck.

actually no it's not. Just the stock replacement from O'Rieley's(sp?).
Maybe mine before was just so worn out.

No idea what aftermarkets sound like, but the stock 94-95 high torque starters sound neat.
They definitely sound better than the stock 87-93 starters.

Zach, my bad. If you had a high torque starter, you would not need to turn the key - just think about it and it would start.

SD - interesting. I have not paid attention, but will. I think the starter on the 88 GT Vert is a little more whiney than the one on the 94GT.

You know i was thinking a pushbutton start would be kinda cool aside from anyone being able to walk away with me car. But the telepathy thing, there you go... only I can start it now!
