Okay, I hope no one got the impression that I am unhappy with my decision for 4.10's.
I have NO regrets going with this gear at ALL.
Wait, I have two:
#1: Should have done this change before I took my car home when I bought it.
#2: Should have had someone else besides the dealer do the install.
Anyways, I drive 50 miles a day back and forth to work, I don't see any problems so far with them so far. I have only had them for 24 hours and I love 'em.
As far as around town driving, yes, you shift from first to second pretty quickly, but, no, it is not that much of an inconvenience. Wheel spin is NOT a problem. I really have no idea why everyone is so scared of this gear. It is nothing to be afraid of. In fact, I bet if you type in "4.10" in the search field you will find NO ONE with the post or statement "I am taking out my 4.10's"
5 spd cars should have come stock with this gear or in the very least, had it as an option.
Gas mileage shouldn't change much once I get rid of the "Happy With The New Gear Right Foot Bug"
Mileage around town should improve since I get to 5th gear alot quicker.
For those living where there is snow, don't fret, these gears are for you. It is your right foot that causes poor traction, not your car.
So, in summary, I am truly convinced with the phrase:
D.F.T.G.= DONT FEAR THE GEAR
Make the change and move on to the next mod. You wont regret it
