haha my mom drives a lightly modded 2005 GT vert and she was trying to be cool in front of a few of my friends and spin the tires, she stalled and thought she killed the car!! i hopped in and showed her how it was done lol i think there is still a little smoke out there haha. btw i drive a 93 GT with around 330 at the wheels and i have raced my mom several times and won every time!!!

They're especially BAD for a boosted/tuned car on 93 octane considering they do cut fuel.

I can't knock the T/C though. I've been daily drivng my Mustang this winter and that darn T/C has saved my ass a few times on black ice. It sucks from a stop but if you are moving and hit some ice it does a pretty good job of cutting power so you can get back under control. I've had it save me in a few turns and definitely reacted quicker than I could.

I know we all hate it, but it's not that hard to reach forward and hit a button. Of course, in the winter time and in the rain...i leave it on.

I bought my 04 without ABS or Trac control and was worried that it was going to haunt me seeing that this has to be a four seasons car.

I've gone through several terrible snows and can't say there has been one time where traction control would have helped. Of course I am running Blizzaks so that might make all of the difference right there.

let this be a lesson to all of us....if you do a burnout and you are not at the track you are not as mature as jivepepper.

lol, yeah. I am addmitting it out loud. i am IMMATURE, and i plan to stay that way because i will continue to abuse my car and do burnouts in front of my friends home, and in parking lots. Seems ok to me, because....its my car, my money. AND, your only young once, mines well do it now, then look really immature when im doing it when im 40.......oh wait, i prolly still will.

Yea my Gt would flatout KILL power...car would just bog like mad with it ON. But I believe I turned it off when I was turbod.

Now here is the weird part. My 03 cobra is totally different....it just drops power but it still will pull like made when activated. It doesnt just KILL power like my GT did....not anywhere close to the same. Very strange....although i hear its calibrated to be more forgiving.
But my TC is now turned off in the tune...I dont really need it, and since it doesnt do much to begin with I decided to have it turned off. Another thing like said above, is that it doesnt seem safe to cut fuel. Could be a bad thing given the right situation.

Never did it in my old 03 Cobra cause I learned my lesson with my old 96 LT4 Vett Here I was at the track trying to do this killer burn out and I stalled it, TWICE in the water box before I remembered it had traction controll. I had my friends with Foxes giving me crap cause the holly LT4 couldnt light em up

lol, yes, it would, sometimes on the highway, where i need to get on her, ill down shift from 5th into 3rd, and kinda take off, and the T/C would kinda cut the fuel or whatever it cuts, and kinda bogs down, its seriously F'n gay.
