Ok well, this is when it started.

I was working on my rear spoiler bolting it up because i was having a problem with it. and since my rear hatch was up the lights were draining the battery so i disconnected the battery like 5 different times. and tonight when i turned my headlights on to take a ride in the stang the air bag light blinks constantly does'nt stop?

is there a pattern to it??

mine is blink, blink, blink, pause, blink, blink, blink, pause.....something with the backup battery

here is a site you might find useful...i have yet to really get into it though

http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/airBag/airBag90-91.html

also maybe you should run the codes and see what you get.

Count the code so we can help pinpoint the problem.

You could go to the auto store anf find a book on your car and see what it means... Haynes/Chilton manual.. I just unplugged my bulb, the crash sensor was already gone when I bought mine..

You can NOT get any information on air bags from the parts store books.

Also, it's AGAINST FEDERAL LAW, and many STATE AND LOCAL LAWS to disable/modify any air bag system. Also, a "correctly working" air bag system is REQUIRED for many state inspections.

BTW: I couldn't give a rat's @ss if people take their whole air bag system, stick it where the sun never shines, and set it off. What ever floats your boat.

What YEAR, MAKE, and MODEL is the problem on. No, *I* do NOT ASSUME stuff and then give STUPID advice telling people to "do xyz".

You looked at my air bag diag pages, yet you don't say what year car you have? What ever. Is there some reason you like to keep the year of your stang a secret? Is it even a stang?

IF you have a 90-91 stang, THEN you likely have a bad clockspring. To do a clockspring R&R See:
http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/airBag/airBag92.html#CODE32

Just DISCONNECT THE BATTERY, WAIT 20 MINS, then remove the air bag, remove the steering wheel (you'll need a steering wheel puller and bit socket), and you get to the clock spring. Get a NEW FORD clockspring ONLY. They go for ~?$50?. Get a Haynes/Chiltons/etc to see how to take the steering wheel off.

Do you have a Digital Camera? Want to do something that I've been asking for for over a TEN years? How about taking some pictures of the R&R. Then, either you can then write up something, or I can. Then, I'll put that tech article on my website.

Go to your local Ford dealer and see if you can get them to reset the airbag module, that happens when you run down the battery on some airbag equipped stangs, and since it did'nt act up until you ran the battery down, it sounds like the case.

To start off its a 1990 5.0 Gt.

Ok next is their any syptoms of a bad clockspring.. like i don't understand how it could just go from disconnecting the negative terminal. its weird. and also i'll definetly to the R&R for you if i end up def needing the clock spring. and also after your post another member stated to go to ford dealer and see if they could reset the module. would that work or no?

For the 90 Model it says Code 6 is most likely the Clockspring.
