Will the air box from a '03 GT fit a '99 V6? They look fairly similar, but I have a strong suspicion the GT one is larger. I've never gotten a chance to compare them side by side, but common sense is ruling against the idea.

But, if they ARE compatable, that'd be cool, even if it is a long shot.

Well although I'm sure a heat gun and duct tape would prolly make it fit, a v6 air box can't be too hard to find

I think that the point of his thread is implying he wants better air flow into the box. That's just a guess though as the implications of putting on a GT air box could be considered a performance mod.

For the time and aggravation involved with making something fit, you might as well just get a CAI instead of fiddling with that. On the other hand, I'd like to see if he could get it to work and not come out looking all ghetto rigged!

Actually, no.

There was an auction on Ebay for a GT air box with K&N filter for cheap.

I know people who have cut their air boxes off with dremels, leaving just enough to keep the filter in place, and they said it may be slightly better. (But its free, so why not, right?)

But I figure if I start cutting up my airbox, I should have a spare just in case I screw something up and need to go back to stock.

So I figured if I got that auction, not only would I have a spare airbox, but I'd have a K&N to boot (I havn't gotten around to buying one yet, only had the car for ~ 2.5 months so far)

I don't have the best paying job in the world, and I have a paintball habit to support as well, but I'm working on it

K&N went in this afternoon. That better?

New pulleys, exhaust, and headers to come this summer, I think.
