air silencer make a real difference?

I'd like to see the dyno graph for it.

And dropping 3/10ths after removing it could also be because it was getting later and the air temp was lower.

I like free mods as much as the next guy but I'm always skeptical about the gains that people produce on them. I'm gonna test the silencer theory at MDD7 on Sunday the 22nd... mid day racing so the temp should be relatively constant.
when it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

UH Huh

Does the removal of the air silencer really make that much improvement? My only mods are a K&N air filter and a weld in of 40 series flowmasters. Should I just leave it alone? This stang only has 1200 miles on it.

Im 17 and have just about enough money for gas. I have a K/n inside my air box. I was driving to lunch before going to a highschool football game and was thinking gee, why did i put my air silencer back on? i took it off, and it felt like an amazing difference it feels like on a stock car it gives it 400 more rpm to work with.

how exactly would you go about removing or trimming it? I want to just try it out to see if I can feel a difference...but I'm not completely sure on how to do it and dont want to mess anything up.
