PVC piping works pretty good...
or if you cant even afford that a kitchen knife works pretty good at cutting the inside of the silencer out... I did it that way lol.

Take a look here http://www.binaryweb.com/fordtech/silencer/index.shtml 89 is thinking of the resonator not the silencer. All you have to do is remove it and make sure you have an air filter.

Yes

What your trying to do is make more room for air to travel through. If you look through your stock silancer piping its only like 1 1/2" ID in the middle of it. So you want to replace that silancer with something a hair bigger like a 2" ID -3" ID tube. I used a AutoZone plastic expanding tube 3" ID ( 2" 2 1/2" would have worked better I think), but I had to cut up some extra hose to help fit it to the TB and MAF, or gut it out like 89Stang said. Heres a few pics of my cars etc, on the bottom pic is part of my CAI for my 93' 2.3L LX. You can't see the K&N because it stuck in the fender. This is a pic from the MAF to the filter.

Hope this helps some

umm let me double check what your talking about first, because I maybe lost. Are you talking about the pice that runs from your Trottle Body to the Mass Air Flow sensor? Or are you talking about the pice that comes off your air box and kinda raps around your radiator to collect air ?

If its the one from the air box to in front of the radiator, then no you don't need to replace it with anything. Its got the airfilter plus the MAF has a screen on it to keep big stuff out.

If its between the TB and the MAF, you will need to replace it with something. Just find something you can fit or adapt to replace it with thats got a bigger Inter Diameter so more air can flow to the motor.

Just click on the "view pics" part near the bottom to see the whole thing installed and pic by pic of it being made.
