Air Silencer

I just got my 2004 GT and I am wondering what I do to remove the air silencer. I am not really all that sure what that peice is. Can anyone show me what to do.

My 04 GT still has the stock silencer on it, but I dont plan on removing it because they tested it on an 01 bullitt and it did not do anything for power, just made the intake louder.Only thing I took off was a little plastic thing under the front end, after I bottomed out a little, it looked kind funny so my dad just poped it out since he was in his work clothes.Looked like it just cought wind...wouldnt call that a mod though, its like removing that little rubber liner in your cup holder, those things are basically made to be removed and will probably just fall off after a while.I like the look better anyways, looks meaner to me.

On my friends Cobra, his car actually made more power with it on. On the GT's, I don't know. Just leave it alone, and put the C&L stuff on there if you really want to feel the intake.
