I have an error 32, I need to service / replace the clockspring mech in the steering wheel.

Question is, will the passenger side bag still work?

I don't mind if it's just me in the car, but if my GF is in the car and
there's problem will it still protect the passenger?

The passenger side airbag is not normally affected by the clockspring which is located inside the steering column. Even with a clockspring error this doesn't mean the drivers side airbag is inoperative. Could be just affecting the cruise control.
