Airbags

Hey guys,
I have a 96 cobra coupe, I re-did my interior a while back and got a little too "happy" with sanding my driver's side airbag and rubbed the texture off (I know, stupid!)
Anyway, I've been trying to find out if a 99-04 airbag will work in a 96 if I replace the airbag module with an 99-04? I know the wiring is different and I have a wiring harness from an 03 cobra. Since I painted my interior charcoal black I'd like to get the charcoal black airbags instead of getting tan ones and dying them again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The air bag will fit into the dash opening. The plug is different, but by simply pulling the red tab out, then pulling the pins out, you can use your old plug. The airbag light should not turn on. I put 99 bags in my 95 with no air bag light turning on.

The module will not work. 96 Cobra mods are blue plastic two plug. The 03 Cobra is a silver aluminum box with one big plug.

Yes, and make sure you disconnet the battery before you start playing with airbags. Better safe than sorry. I have never had a bag blow off on me...but a customer of mine did. I don't know what he was doing, but when he told me that it went off in his face...I started LMFAO!!!!
