Alarm system 2004 mustang (40th edition)

My alarm system was unplugged when I bought the car from the dealership, I turned the ignition on and plugged it back in so the siren would not go off. I was wondering if there was a reason why it would have been unplugged?

(In the photo it is the small black box that is plugged into the larger black box)
