I took my car for an alignment after installing bilstein shocks and struts. When I got it back, it was still pulling hard to the left. I took it back and they checked it out again. They told me that they can't get enough adjustment out of the new struts and that I need caster/camber plates to do it. Would that be the cause of them not being able to align it properly?

I got bilstein shocks and struts along with FRPP B springs last month. My alignment was 3 degrees off on the drivers side. I bought MM C/C plates, had ford put them on and all is good.

sometimes our stock caster camber plates already come maxed out in certain cars and the cmaber will still be all screwed up, just get the C/C plates......where i work at i suggest them to most mustangs that come lowered but they're like no its too much. Then i try and set there alignment to get the car going straight but the tire wear gets affected alot due to too much negative camber.:nonono:

I have stock springs on. The streets suck to much where I am to lower it. So if i should get the C/C plates, any recommendations? Is there really any differences between the brands?

some cars need CC plates to be alinged at stock height.

MM pates are the ONLY ones you should look at. all others are CRAP!!! i do all the alignments for the local stang shop and i have used all brands of plates and i know from experiance that all but MM is a waste of money.

there are a lot of people on here that believe just b/c you have a certain spring that you will not need plates. these people are obviously NOT alignment techs.

if you have any alignment cuestions feel free to PM me and i'll let you know what to do.

from what it sounds like your cross caster is too far negative. that means yourright front tire is too far in front of your left front tire. if you have the camber, caster and toe specs please post them up and i will let you know where your problem is.

it may be assimple as a tire pull. try crossing your front tiresand see if the pull changes directions

________left_____right
camber__-0.8_____-1.6
caster___2.5______2.8
toe_____0.07_____0.06

that is according to the spec sheet that they gave to me

I'm not an expert but those numbers look like what my POS alignment shop set my car to and it started to pull as well after I installed Bilsteins SS, Ford C springs. I eventually got the Maximum Motorsport C/C plates and had to take it to 4 different shops before I found a place where I met a tech that was knowledgable enough to align my car for me. After TONS of research, and MM recommendations, I had my car aligned to, (these are not the exact numbers but what I remember off of the top of my head) Drives perfect now!

Camber: -0.57 -0.57
Caster: 4.0 4.0
Toe: 0.06 0.06

________left_____right
camber__-0.8_____-1.6
caster___2.5______2.8
toe_____0.07_____0.06

everything but the RF camber looks good. i like to run between -0.5 and -0.8 for both sides on camber.

the caster looks good. the LF should always have a slight lead on the RF. the cross caster (the differance you get when you subtract the RF caster from the LF caster) is -0.3 which should give enough offset for road crown. i prefer -0.5butwhat you have is fine.

i would have to say you have a radial tire pull issue. swap the front tires and see if the pull changes directions.

i get a lot of complaints of cars pulling and all it turns out to be is a crooked steering wheel. i assume your pull is when you let go of the wheel and not when you move the wheel to dead center.

you use nearly the same setting i use :nice: ......

I also get alot of pulling complaints road test the car and like you said steering wheel is crooked

caster can be any number 2.00 to 10.00 as long as the differance between the two sides is 0.00 to -0.6

if you try all my suggestions and still have a problem, tell the shop to set you cross caster to 0.00 if possible

with my C/C plates and keep in mind iam at stock height......R/F @4.5* .......L/[email protected]*
