Hey folks... I don't post much but though you might find this interesting.
First, I just finished getting my 5.4L 2v installed. It sports 10.5:1 compression, a fully forged MMR built bottom end, fox lake stage 2 heads, comp xe270 cams, custom ported HPS Hardball'r 4.6 intake, ported Reichard Racing intake adapter plates, fidanza aluminum flywheel and Apex Motorsports DF kevlar clutch. Still breaking it in. Should have dyno numbers in a couple weeks. You can see some pics of the beast being birthed below.
Second, some of you may recall that I announced a couple months ago that HPS was going to make the 5.4 2v intake for mustangs... well they did. They should start shipping shortly after the new year. See www.hiperformancesolutions.com/54.html for more info.
Finally HPS and I are going to start work shortly with an aftermarket exhaust maker to get long tube headers made to support the swap.
You now have a very easy route to upgrade to a 5.4. We can have the 2/3/4v discussion later. At least now there's a fully aftermarket supported route too get the bigger block in play. Hooray!
