how much horsepower to the wheels can you put down all motor without going to the ends of the earth. just a good simple motor, no retarded big fuel injectors, no horrible ass cam, how much hp can you expect? with what kind of power for 306's? what about 351s, 408s and so on. i know a broad range is what im expecting, but mainly im concerned with a simple setup. thanks.

How much do you want to spend?

Displacment is the cheapest way to build power N/A. One thing about N/A is that it is easy to keep it simple, unless of course you plan to revv the hell out of it. You could build a 408 with out of the box heads, intake, cam, rockers, ect for not too much money and easily make 400+RWHP/RWTQ and be street freindly and lots of fun.

I've got simple combo 306 that made 307 rear wheel horsepower and runs 12.40's-12.80's @ 107-110. While I don't drive it daily, it could certainly be a daily driver. It's carbureted though and that may not be what you're looking for. I don't have to worry about emissions because my car is old enough to be grandfathered. LOL!
