Well, this past Friday I took my car over to EEC DOC's house and we(most him) installed the following parts onto my car.
4.30 gears
Full bearing and seal kit
31 spline Moser axles
31 spline Ford Differential
Moser Differential cover
2 qts. Amsoil 75w90 rear diff. fluid w/ friction modifier
Aluminum Driveshaft
Driveshaft safety loop
UPR Double adjustable uppers
Maximum Motorsport solid drag lowers
Cobra R power steering pulley
180 degree thermostat
Fuel Filter
New throttle cable(I had damaged mine once before as I'm rough with everything)
Copper Motorcraft plugs(It was the 12C series. They're two steps colder than stock. Had been gonna put my Iridiums in and then realized I had a set that was set for stock heat range. Mike insisted on a colder plug.)
Took us all of Friday and then we finished up today at about 4pm. Had a lot of funning helping him with the car event though I didn't do too much. I did manage to coat my exhuast that he took of the car with some aluminum colored engine paint. Finally, he had to build me a program for my application with his SCT tuning software. Right now, my car only has 87 octane gasoline in it w/ Amsoil PI gas treatment but we went on ahead and set the tuning for 93 octane. Still yet to have any pinging by the way. It's making me wonder if I should go with SCT's "race setting" and run 93 with it and see if I'll be ok. Anyhow, we took the thing out for a test drive after everything was done. Mike(EEC DOC) had his scanner tool hooked up so he was monitoring the whole thing while I was driving. First thing I noticed was the car had a bit stiffer response. I guess that mainly had to due with the fact we just put a new throttle calbe in so I overlooked that. When we got it out on the main road we did a number of rpm level tests and speeds. To be honest, I didn't really "feel" the power gain but I did notice the speed climbed rather quick, the car handled a lot better, the sound of the exhuast was more "deep" rather than "rasp". I also noticed that "riding the rails" feeling you get from the rear suspension with these control arms. What it reminds me of is one of those roller coastes and how you're so stuck to the track you feel every little turn and nook in the course but you feel it in a good way. Anyhow, I only floored it once since we don't want to get on this setup just yet without breaking it in. When I got on it, I had o/d off and I was at about 40mph. I noticed the speed went straight to 80 very quickly. Strange thing was is when the shift happened, I didn't even really feel it. I mean it was fast and all but no chirping or sudden "shock" you usually get. I guess these control arms really do work. Anyhow, the sound of the exhaust and the "wheel whirl " I have with this setup almost put me to sleep 4 times on the way home and I only live about 5 miles from Mike's house. I love the way the car sounds and handles. Don't know how this stuff is gonna effect my gas mileage in the long run but right now, I don't care. I just want to break everything in and then get on it.
Anyhow, I've rambled enough. You basically get the point and all the parts are good. Special thanks to Mike Siska for taking the time out to do the install, thanks to Randy Stinchcomb for all the help with getting me the parts and for selling me his Cobra R ps pulley. Thanks also to Kevin Bowyer(True Blue) for the deal on the control arms, thanks to Tyldlwavs for the sweet deal on the new throttle cable, and thanks to the rest of you guys who convinced me to go no less than 4.30 gears.
