So after a lot of thinking about engine upgrades etc etc, I decided to start with the foundation. You know what they say about building a house... The AODE has gotta go. I have a bad back but the small amount of discomfort the auto might save me isnt worth the crappy shifting of the AODE. I thought about maybe the 4r70W upgrade but even then its still an automatic. I miss the smooth shifting of my former 88 with the Hurst in her. So back to the main point, Ive been slowly aquiring the needed pieces for the T5 swap and I have a question about the the clutch and brake pedal assembly. I currently have a line on one out of a 96 Cobra. Will this work in a 95 GT I wasnt sure because Ive seen a few people list them as 94/95 specific. Not saying theyre right but I figured ID find out before I dishedout any cash.

Crappy shifting of an AOD-E is easily fixed.

I know and Ive considered that but there are other issues. The planetary gears in 1st whine and chatter and every now and then the 2 - 3 shift just isnt there. And I mean, 1-2 goes fine and then it hangs up in second and thats the end of the story, itll rev right up to redline without actually moving the car at all. The tranny is pushing 140K so I figure if anyting, once I pull it out Ill see if its worth rebuilding and if so rebuild and sell. Having owned 5 mustangs now with 3 of them being 5 speeds, I can honestly say Id rather drive a 5 speed. Just my personal preference. Ive been in cars with race built autos that would eat a stick car for lunch but I dont race at the track or on the street so it doesnt apply to me.
