Plz check my Sig before reading further....

Now that you know I have both cars, lets proceed.

I'm freaking sick of all the "Can I beat this LS1?" Threads so here is a non-bias review of the almighty 03 Cobra vs a 2000 WS6 Trans Am.

Mods:

WS6: SSRA, Lid, Filter, EGR, OR Y-pipe, Catback, with a M6 .

Cobra: Filter, Catback, with a M6

My Stock Times:

WS6 stock Trap speed 107.1 with 30k miles

Cobra stock Trap speed 109.9 with 600 miles (Obviously would be higher with a more miles on the motor )

WS6 stock ET 13.2 with a 2.0 60'

Cobra stock ET 12.9 with a 1.9 60'

WS6 MPH after mods 109.8 still with 30k miles

Cobra MPH after mods 111.7 900 miles ( Catback was pretty much straight pipes) Needless to say its freaking LOUD!

WS6 ET after mods 12.9 and still had 2.0 60'

Cobra ET after mods 12.7 with 1.89 60'

In the end my Cobra is Faster of course. Its still a drivers race at this point. I have a 2.8 pulley and tension pulley sitting at home but I'm waiting for my 9", control arms, Subs, OR X-pipe, and LT Headers to be installed first...

After thoses mods are in, my WS6 will be no contest as my trap speed will hopfully be close to 120

Coming soon for my WS6 will be some new heads, intake, Cam package with LT Headers and gears

It will be interesting to race them again after the cobra is modded up and then the WS6 gets some big mods too.

Now if anyone lives near Everett Washington and would like to see how your car fairs against a lightly modded LS1 send me a PM and I will be happy to do a friendly race and even Video tape it for everyones viewing pleasure.

Same goes for any LS1 owners reading this that would like to run a nearly stock 03 Cobra.

Don't PM me if your car has 700hp and runs 10's because what would be the point?

I love both cars and wouldn't trade either of them for nothin'! I plan on keeping all my cars until im dead and gone or some pooosie azz loser decides to make gas powered cars illegal

I love Mustangs and Fbody's thats why I had to get both, I wanted an 03 Cobra but I love my 96. My SS just full Bolt-on and it runs 12.60's and is good for 12.40 but I'm sure you know about the 10 bolt . But mod for mod the 03/04 Cobra's take over they are very badass but LS1 with H/C are NASTY and if you add a power adder WOW.

M6 means manual 6 speed in GM terms. I don't know why they don't just say T56. They refer their automatic trans as the A4 also.

You pulled a 1.9 w/ 03 cobra on stock radials on IRS? Pretty good! Isn't the weight of the 03 is alot more than a f-body? I don't have a prob with any LS1's Except for my wifes. If she loses, I lose, catch my drift? -Mark

Yes....

My cobra was 3690 last time I took it too the scale and my WS6 was 3420. The Camaros weigh about 40lbs less the the T/A's.

1.9 and lower is easily done is you don't care about your clutch .

Most people I have watched at the track with these cars will either lug the crap out of them or bring up the RPM's too high and be all over the place.

Gotta find that sweeeet spot

BTW:

M6 is one less letter to type than T56
