Hey I got a question about california mustangs. I live in Ohio and I bought my cobra out of california and I want to know what special emissions stuff is on California cars and what they do to performance if any.

nothing really special is added to the cars I don't think. Its just a matter of what they allow and don't allow. Like LT's..none of those...or O/R X or H pipes..those either..And any engine mod that doesn't have CARB certification is technically illegal to put on.

I am not positive but the stock program in the computer may be the main thing.

i bought my car used but it had a california tune. Get a chip or your ecu reprogrammed cause it is programmed really mild for cali emissions. When my tuner looked at my program he laughed and knew immediatly the car was from cali. what huge dif it made getting it chiped.

Yea-someone over at mustangworld told me it was the computer - that is probably why my horsepower seemed low and ETs seemed high for a stock cobra!!! Cali emisssions=
