Yeah, its got some bugs, not much dirt. Painted the hood separately, and it was perfect, then it rained. Second time was not as good as the first, but I am tired of fooling with it. Bought a HF canopy, but have not really needed it until the rain. May do one more coat of clear. Time to reassemble. and see what I have.

Heres a few photos of my last several months driveway paintjob on my 82. Did a bunch of bodywork, welding, etc, but left a lot of minor stuff undone because its a toy not a show hobby. Sanded, epoxy primer, 2k primer, base coat (3), clearcoat (3) and now have it stage 2 buffed. Paint is Dynacoat from the local Carquest, spray gun and buff stuff from Eastwood. At about $1400 so far. Kind of a tribute to Bondo Billy! Not near as much trash in the paint as I expected doing it in the open. The hood got caught in the rain and had to redo. More photos when done.

OH GOD!!!you get dust, dirt and every bug within 10 miles!!!
just put a lot of clear on it and wet sanding takes most out, I've seen a couple driveway jobs look pretty decent.
Surprisingly it did not get a huge amount of dirt and bugs. Bondo Billy says you dont have to clean the floor, so I left all the sand the rain washed down the driveway under the car. And a couple of roman candles got the squirrels in the oak tree branch above the car to move temporarily.... (not really, but thats what I told the Eastwood tech guy) Hood got rained on and did not turn out as good on the do over, but I looks much better and should rust much more slowly.

You're being funny here right?
Just checking......
Actually, the car has been parked next to a tidal creek for most of the time I have owned it. It did take a 2 year break where it was parked within 30 ft of the Pascagoula River, (mostly freshwater, but still tidal) so rust is a real thing. I am surprised that it does not have the typical rust in the front frame and shock towers, but the cowl and front structure were toast. Took four 2x4 sheets of 18 gage to fix it.

Pascagoula River!? I currently live in PA but grew up on the Gulf Coast. Cool to see a ride from back home. Looks nice man. Looking forward to seeing more on your progress.

Lol grinder and paint makes ya the welder ya ain't. Flux core? A cheapy co2 bottle and adapter can help cut down alot of that if c25 is a monopoly of air gas like my area. Paint looks great for a budget job. Both my beaters getting the same treatment. Temu is actually a decent source for supplies with knock off paint guns, cheaper paper and tape products. I'll probably use some cheap kirker and finish one clear all ready have a gallon of epoxy white primer from other projects.
