One free ass-beating for the first person that says "put a small screwdriver in the slot and push."

You put a small screwdriver in the slot and pull the spring towards you while you're pulling the knob out at the same time.

That's how I got mine off.

Thanks Jay. I shall give that a try, all the instructions say ...blah blah blah, and push. That sure as &^%# doesn't work.

did you get the knob off

i guess cutting the thing off did the trick huh? hahaha i took one of years ago so i didnt remember much other then just pressing a button while you pull it out.i guess the ones on our nwer stangs are diffrent? ERIC

When i took mine off the paint the interior trim, it felt like it almost broke but it wasnt and went back on fine, but i did pull really really hard with the screwdriver in the slot, its tough.

Took me about an hour to get mine off the first time. Once I did, I could do it again in under a minute.

I just yanked mine off when I replaced it with an aluminum one. I tried being gentle with the screwdriver like the instructions said, got pissed and ripped it off with my bare hands! Don't **** with me, I'm a bad man!
