alt pulley

on my 87 gt i did the 3g upgrade, and was wondering, rather than buying the smaller pulley through autospecialities, could i just reuse my pulley from my 2g, its smaller than the 3g or would this not work?
tried a search, but didnt find the answer?

It should work...I used my underdrives from my 2g on my 3g.

i used a march underdrive pullley on my 3g conv.it was way smaller than the factory pulley on the 3g alt.

it should charge more with a smaller pulley. if it fits, i would use it.

i tried using my march pulley and the nut was not able to hold on to much thread, looked like the 3g pulley has a bigger area for the nut to sink in to grab more threads. so i ended buying the small 3g pulley from summit, works great no more charging problems o well good luck if you can use the 2 g one.

I have a 2G pulley on my 3G alternator. It acts as an overdrive rather then under drive.
