Altenator wiring issue?

Hey guys bought a 2010 mustang gt with a check charging light on. Been trying to diagnose for weeks now with no luck. Altenator and battery both test good on bench test. I’m thinking it’s a wiring problem. To start my main concern is the wires coming from altenator plug. Can anyone verify if these colors are correct and what they go to.
will also attach picture of weird bare wire that I don’t know if it’s normal. Thanks so much in advance

The "bare" wire is part of a shielded cable that is supposed to help prevent EM emissions from corrupting the circuit.
It is normal to see when you strip apart the harness. Not used everywhere, but they are used.

Alright fair enough it didnt look like anything ive seen from a factory but i will admit i havent seen it all
Car seems to be stock. The plug pictures is the altenator plug and it plugs into 3 wires (orange/blue, purple, and red) along the fuel rail. The new alternator is a 160 output so more amps than stock. There is a red wire on the male end of the altenator pig tail like it has been put out of service. Should also mention that the diode fuse has no continuity and the charging system light seems to come on when car idle goes down after start up. Hopefully this helps

I tried a search and couldnt find anything online...might try looking for one of these

Im thinking that wiring is messed up or you have a voltage regulator problem...
