Alternator Pulley

I have a set of ford underdrive pullies. I was wondering if I can just put back on the stock alternator. I am going to run a little amp and sub in the back and I needed the little extra power from the alternator.

I would fix that electrical demon that you have before putting something thats going to drain you power even more. That way you can try it with the pullies and if ir runs to low then but the stoker back on your alt. or steeda sell an overdrive pulley to give you more. just me tho.

putting on the stock alt pully will help the power draw that your subs/amp will give you

You CAN put it back, but you may have to change the belt. Just check the tensioner line up notch when you put the belt back on.

I did . My alternator would stop charging below 900rpm so I put the stock pulley back on and no longer an issue . Did not have to get a new belt .

Of course that is first on my list. I am going to put the stock alternator pullie back on and get a new alternator harness. And I am going to check all my ground wires and stupid stuff like that.

BTW-- Does anyone know where to get a new alternator harness. The only choice I have right now is to go to the junk yard and get one.

did you have to use the belt tensioner to get it tight again?

The belt tensioner worked just like it is supposed to. With the U/D pulley, which has a larger diameter than the stocker, the belt fit tighter than original. So, when I switched back to the stock alternator pulley the fit of the belt was better.

i don't know why but i had no charging problems what so ever and i had two amps and two 10" woofers. but of course, before i put the pulleys on i got an 850 amp battery and that was that. no need to get a new alternator or anything else. and like some said, there shouldn't be a problem with your belt, it stays the same.

i have a shirt some where and I cantfind it. I am putting the pullies back on just for some help. I cant seem to find a alternator harness so I think I am screwed.
