While working on the alt. on my 89 tempo, it has the same 2G wiring setup as the mustang, I noticed the S terminal doesn't connect to the alt. at all. Thus has no voltage going to the reg. The black/white wire is there and the connector blade is bonded into the connector, but not conductively attached to anything. My indicator light doesn't come on but I know it works. Why would ford do this? Also what is with the two large black/orange wires that join in a splice further in the circuit? I know they changed it to 3G later, but where is the logic?
