The alternator that i have is out of a 88 5.0. I am trying to wire up this alternator to my 65 stang. The unit works good, i brought it to kragen and had it tested. Now my questions are about the wiring. There are 6 wires, 2 of them go together and go to a battery source, 1 wire jumps from the the bottom plug to the top plug. Another wire is a yellow and a green. My questions is, where does the green go, right now i have the yellow and the green going to the battery as well. Is that correct? Initially i only had the yellow wire going to the battery and left the green open. But it would not put out a charge, but when i hooked up the green one to the battery, it then put out a charge. But its only charging at like 12volts. The alternator charged fine when i tested it on a bench test. What is the green wire?
