I have a stock no air conditioner 1965 Mustang with a 289 in it I recently installed a classic auto air air conditioning system installed an electric fan on the radiator also installed a retro sound aftermarket radio going to be installing electric door locks and electric trunk release I am currently running the stock 55 amp alternator and was wondering if I should go with a higher amp alternator and if so how high of amperage should I go?

You could some are going for 100 but anything in between 55 and 100 could work..

It definitely wouldn't hurt to get a bigger alt. Your E-fan for the HVAC is the biggest concern and you don't want to be in a situation where you're pulling more than your alt is capable of providing.

I don't recall what alternator casing is in a 65 but a 2G (85 amp) would probably be more than enough although, going bigger is not really an issue. Ensure that your wire and cables are heavy enough for the current pull.

Altonators rated in amperes you said current one was 50 so a larger more current would be 75 or 100 amps

You're going to need to work on your input procedure.

Let's break this down:

The sentence would go like this:

"Alternators are rated in amperes."

With a period at the end to note the completion of that thought. That said, I don't think there's anybody here that doesn't know how alternators are rated.

Once again. The period matters. It's so that the rest of us know where that sentence ended and the next begins.

This one will really throw you for a loop. Not only is there a period but there is also a comma.

And 75 and 100 are both, greater than 50? That's amazing!

Now... Do I care if there's a grammar mistake from time to time? Oh, hello no. They are often funny. Thread posts though, should also have a reason to exist. Yours have provided zero useful information and are just lazy.

So, if you're going to come in here to converse with the rest of us "Rocket Scientists" then you need to put [some] effort into the point you're trying to make and that point should be relevant. Otherwise... Bookface is thataway >>>>
