They are here in Dallas, and have pretty good pricing. Plan to pick one up here in the next couple days, should I grab a 150A or 160A? both are within $10 of each other. And any experience with the quality of these units?

I think I am going to go ahead and just grab one of the 160A ones...standard "non-bling" case for me though

Did you have to buy anything else besides the alternator for the install?

put it on along with a set of underdrive pulleys earlier this evening. I am going to have the overdrive pulley that was on it powdercoated black to match the rest and then put it back on. seems pretty good so far though, the pulleys did help a bunch

Sorry it took so long to reply.
I got the 160A Chromer. (of course)
Bill over at Alterstart was GREAT!.
All you need extra is the 4 ga wire...direct bolt on. LOOKS awesome. They even give you a slightly smaller pulley. Helps to accommodate a slightly off-size belt.

GOOD LUCK!
RC

Cool. I might pick one up sometime to help solve the voltage problem the U/D's made.

You could just put the stock pulley back on the alternator.

$130 the price is right, that's for sure. I'll probably step up to one of those when I get my JL1000/1
