I'm a bit confused with the aluminum blocks. Could use a little clarification. This is what i think i know.
93-95 lincoln mark viii - teksid w/ jack screws. No longer get the jack screws from ford right?
96-98 mark viii - teksid w/ dowels to locate main caps.
96-98, some 99 & 01 cobra - teksid, same as 96-98 lincolns
most 01 cobras and 02+ explorers - wap aluminum (good to 600hp?)
Did i miss anything? Any particular year preferred over the others?
Then there are the FRPP part numbers
M-6010-A46 - WAP block, right?
And the new blocks. These are the 05+ aluminum blocks right?
M-6010-A46SC
M-6010-A46NA
What's the difference between the NA & SC blocks, other than the knock sensor boss not being on the SC block? What about the weight? The FRPP catalog lists the NA block at 129lbs and the SC block at 165lbs. How is this possible, since the teksid block only weighs ~85 lbs. What about strength? Are these comparable to the Teksids?
