Is anybody seeing a hp increase on the dyno and down the quarter with aluminum DS and flywheel? I have heard on other car forums that some people see a very noticeable increase on the dyno from switching to aluminum flywheels, and wondered if anybody has tested this on a Mustang. I understand the car won't be making more power, just sending more to the ground.

one of the mags did a test with the Mccleod clutch/aluminum flywheel combo............they got about 11hp/11tq.........aluminum DS should be worth 2hp/2tq.

very good upgrade especially if you launch @ idle to 1,200rpms you should gain between .1-.2 in 1/4.
if you lauch above 5,000rpms you might not see any gains in 1/4.

your also taking over 10lbs off car (6lbs off DS alone).

DS - 7lbs
mcleod al. flywheel -9lbs

16lbs overall

you'll gain big time on E.T. and a very worthwhile mod. If you haven't done your clutch already do it at the same time. Fidanza aluminum flywheels is another reputable company.

The alloy Fidansa(sp) weighs 13lbs the stock iron unit weighs 26lbs.
The car now shifts gear much better and feels lighter to the touch with much better response.
I highly recommend it to anyone.
