so the past few days i have been reading on the increased number of people having spark plug blow out. being paranoid i called up my local ford dealership and asked them if they had a stock replacement plug for my 99 gt with longer threads (the AGSF-32C...right?)

and they basically laughed and told me they havent made motorcraft plugs with copper since the early 90's

what gives!?

being that i knew something was wrong, i bought what they had/recommended me anyway since i was not at my computer.

they gave me AGSF-32PM

my car isnt moidified and id like the stock plugs back in my car..but i cant buy what they think doesnt exist..what do i do?

Well, the AGSF-32PM will work fine... That is just the platinum version instead of copper. But if you really want the copper plug they are available.

well i just gave the same dealership a call and just asked them if they could order the copper plugs and he told me that he cannot order them anymore because Ford has "replaced" them with the "PM's"

whatever. ill just use these platniums and see how they work.

sine its platnium and not copper, should i take anything else into consideration when installing/gapping them?

Not really. I mean the stock replacement plug for a 99+ GT is already a platnium plug. I don't beleive copper plugs have been OEM since 1995. In fact, copper plugs have never been OEM on any modular motor as far as i know

then ive been misinterpreting what people have been suggesting over the past few months about the 32C's being the stock replacement:scratch::shrug:

Maybe that's what the dealer meant? They haven't been OEM since the mid-90's

Stock replacement plugs are actually platniums. The 5.0 Mustangs were the last to use the coppers.

You can still buy the copper 32C's though.

not from Ford I can't according to him:bs:

i can understand the OEM part about the whole thing which i can admit mistake assuming somethign that was incorrect

however i called up and told him if he could order AGSF-32C and he said he can NOT order these through Ford anymore and told me to try through NAPA or some place else

it is just strange...

if i picked up a 2000 GT how could i check to see if it has the right plugs? it has like 75K on it. if i pull one and its motorcraft would that prettymuch mean they are all okay?
