okay, so my plans for my 1992 EFI 5.0L GT are as follows...

1) BBK long tube headers ( done )
2) Off Road custom X pipe w/ 40 series ( done )
3) Trick Flow Track Heat top end kit ( heads, intakes, cam, timing set )
4) New Tremec 5spd or 6spd ( can't decide )
5) Aluminum drive shaft
6) New gears ( don't know what ratio )

Well, I guess I have a few questions. What is the best gear ratio for daily driver with occasional 55-65mph driving and an occasional trip to the track? Then, what else do I have to do to compensate for the new top end kit? By that I mean throttle body, CAI ( worth it? ), MAF stuff, ignition, etc.

Help?

I personally like 3.73 gears, but you could go with 3.55 or 4.10 too.

To go along with the top end kit, I would go with some larger injectors 24lb or 30lb, a larger MAF calibrated for the injectors, a larger throttlebody 70-75mm, headers and then you could upgrade the ignition system later. I'd also recommend getting the car tuned.

i went with 3.55 but only because i do alot of highway driving, but i still think i could have done 3.73 so those are what i would suggest to you, the tfs kit is powerful!! you'll love it. if you have the money get a six speed and get 4.10 gears. if you go with a 5 speed get 3.73's, dont forget the TB MAF INjectors and CAI to go along with the trickflow package

I have 3.73s in my DD. I still have plenty of gear on the highway, and they get me out of the hole quick. To me, they are the best of both worlds. I think 4.10 is too aggressive for hwy driving, and 3.55s are too mild.

Just my opinion.
