Annoying "squeaky" sound in the rear

You can get white lithium grease in a spray, it works great on door hinges too.

Every time I drive and my tires go over a bump I can hear what sounds like "sqeaking" high pitch noise from my right rear. Should I just spray that whole area with some WD-40 ..????

Oh how I know that noise. I got through this every couple of months but I usually take it to my shop because it's just easier to have them do it rather than me crawling around on the ground.

There are bushings in the rear suspension that I think have arthritis and they complain every so often. I take it in to my shop, they spray them while I rock the car front to back and then the noise goes away until whatever they spray them with wears off. It started on the driver's side then the next year it went to the passengers side. As it get's older it gets squeekier but it's a horribly annoying sound eeeiiik, eeeikkkk, eiikkk, eiiik after littlest rocking motion front and back. It's not a big movement, like I said just gently pushing the car while its off and in park you can cause it to eeeiikkk, eeeiikkk until the car settles again.

So I finally got a definitive answer. The bushings in the two control arms in the rear of the car are causing this awful noise. I think that Ford should recall the vehicles but there's little chance considering it's not a safety issue just a very annoying issue. So things like WD-40 should silence them for the moment but it won't last. According to my mechanic the only way to eliminate the noise permanently is to replace the control arms which is probably about $200 for parts but if you just replace the bushings they still have to pull the control arms and then press the new bushings in but the bushing can be had for about $18 per side. Much cheaper but more labor.
