annoying tick sound-short pushrods?

So I have this annoying clicking/ticking sound that matches RPMs when I drive, it almost sounds like the bicycle spoke card thing, only if the card was metallic. There is no exhaust leak, and the mechanic I usually go to said he thinks the lifters arent the right size? correct me if im wrong, but 302 rollers only have on size, no? Since there is no exhaust leak, Im thinking maybe my pushrods are too short; does anyone know what this would sound like/have suggestions? thanks!

My valvetrain componets are:

Steeda 19 Cam
Ford Racing Replacement Lifters
Stock PRs
Crane Cams valvesprings
Stock Valves in Ported E7's

whats your full setup if you changed your heads you may have to replace pushrods.. sounds like a lifter but you replaced those. pull off a valve cover, and turn the motor by hand (or pull the fp fuses and crank with starter) cheack the rods at every point in the stroke... my issue with calling it the rids would be that all you rods should be the same size.... soa lll cylinders would do it.... see if that helps ya!
