Howdy all, I have a 65 289 Convert.

It came with power drum brakes.

I changed it over to the granada setup, and didn't change the booster, pedal, and jam jar master cylinder.

Worked pretty well!

I need to get rid of that Jam Jar. And I'm sure the booster is dead- it is testing dead, and it's relatively hard to brake.

I can go the route of Ultrastang, but I'm not too excited about all that- yet.

I have not seen (in the many many posts I've read) anyone that used the old original 4 wheel drum booster with a new dual reservoir MC with the granada setup- the original booster is very long, and I assume that they won't fit.

Is there a MC that'll fit with the original booster?

Other factors:
-I have an export brace
-car originally came with power 4 wheel drums
-granada swap
-I have a proportioning valve

thanks guys

Anyone? I know brake MC questions are everywhere, but this one is little different to keep the masses interested... maybe a little..

4 wheel power brake setup with the granada swap.
Dead booster, and I need a dual reservoir MC.

What would you do? (looking for home-grown kits, I don't want a whole new system- if I can avoid it)

Looks like there is an option or two.

Mustang Depot has one for rear drum/front disk.
http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCatalog/Brakes/power_brake_parts.htm

and there is a disk/disk setup at NPD, pg 47.

Ultrastang has an interesting idea and 1/3 of the price with a 2.3L booster and MC setup.

Question: Can I use the disk/disk setup, if I have a proportioning valve? (future proofing it, in case I get rear disks)
