The design looks great, and its obvious that you know what you are doing. Judging by the mustang, the quality of the works speaks for itself.
I should get a hefty discount, seeing we are in a recession and all and it being I that was the first to ask. Everyone else can line up behind me at a hefty mark-up.
Anyone that complains, you can charge them double.
Should work out pocketbook wise in the end.

I am new to the site, so I apologize.
All my car's, still run on 60's rubber band technology.

Approximatley how much did this setup cost you in materials only?

I like it a lot, but would rather run a setup similar to your falcons than this one on my mustang.

the falcon was around 1500 dollars that was double adjustable shocks and ball joints and rod ends. This build was just over 900, which included double adjustable shocks, spring, the rest was materials and fasteners.

But i have at least 30 hours with two people working. So 60 hours of fabrication and assembly time. I could have worked faster maybe. Also, a lot of design time as well. That was all free for me.

i am not a builder at all just an engineer with a passion for car suspensions.

I think we are confused with your shelby drop reasonning??????

Oh that,
I can recall walking into a local ford dealer, with a group of friends,and asking about information on it. They promised to find out for us. When we went back a few days later. They told us they could not perform the mod, because it required special lengthen pitman and idler arms (not available, not a ford part)and that without them the handling would be severely affected over time. You could order ford /Shelby parts back then from Ford and have them installed or install them yourself on a 65-66 mustang.
Everyone tells me this is a highly accepted practice now (Shelby drop) and I realize that.
I might be wrong and they might have been mis-informed, it's a possibility.I been wrong before on less trivial things.
I can see where this would be a good thing (coil overs), and I am open to modifying my cars to newer technology. The roller bearing spring perches is a perfect example. They have always been a problem and the roller bearings are a perfect solution.
If someone could run a program and see what the difference, the Shelby mod with lengthened pitman and idler arms would accomplish, I would love to know.
Everyone tells me there would be no interest in them , since you can make more money of a rack and pinion setup and the associated parts, and that might be true.
I am just not willing to trade one problem for another.

here are some action shots of the front suspension and complete setup hooking.

it ran a 1.77 60 foot time with a 300hp motor. So the race motor should run a little better.

Yep, it launched around 5000rpm but ran out of motor. It was the first time at the track with this setup and slicks. So more tuning is in order. Need some more sorting of the top loader four speed then the race motor will go in.

That was my dad. Did you see the motor on the engine stand that day you stopped by?

its a 319ci SBF with some other work done to it. We are going to do some head work and re-assemble it. It should be ready to put in this summer. Should be worth a few more horsepower.

Looks good, it will be interesting to see how it works when you put more power to it. I know Moneymaker had a setup similar to that on his car and it works rather well for him. Not sure what springs he was running though.

Thing that is nice is being able to run different springs on your setup. I think you said your running a 250lb spring? Thats pretty close to a 6 cylinder rate I believe, it would be of interest to see how it would do with something around 200 at the strip.

I know on my AJE kit I'm going to change to a 14x130 from the 14x150. Just not enough stored energy on the 150 for me.
