Jaguar diffs come in a range of ratios depending on the model, they are not (to my knowledge) interchangeable with other manufacturers gears.

Well, Jaguaris a Ford subsidiary now so I thought there was a shot at it...

What modifications did you have to make to the car itself?

the pic of the underside of my car shows the cutting and plating I did to fit the jag. mounted it on rubber engine mounts because thats how they attach to jaguars (have a look under one and you'll see). otherwise only thing needed is a new tailshaft with the jag fitting at the back end (be sure to get this when you buy a diff), connect the brakes and your'e crusin.

Sorry, but I don't exactly have a lot of access to look underneath a jag. I think I've seen 3 or 4...ever.

I can see the pic, but it's under for me to compare that to the memory of what my car looks like underneath, get my drift? What I'm trying to get at was did you have to fab any brackets or anything?

Anyone know what that rear is rated for power wise?

the jag rear is based on the dana 44 so power handling potential is pretty good around 350-400 hp, but the weak link is the axle shafts, i'd say the jag pieces are probably good to about 350 hp at the flywheel or about 280 at the rear wheels max

Eek, yeah, Cobra IRS then. Doesn't matter, that's a ways off. Just want as much info as I can have at all times.

Blue Moon Motorsports' IRS, featured in Mustang Monthly

How about this one, featured in Mustang Monthly, "in a partnership with NPD, Blue Moon Motorsports is in the process of developing a bolt-in independent rear suspension for early Mustangs.:

The x-bracing looks ugly but functional. Anybody have any thoughts?
