Well i couldn't get ahold of anyone to cruise next to me to make a good driving sound clip with, so i just went out to the country and did some runs from a stop. Unfortunately my cameragirl missed half the action so i only got 2 decent clips and then an idle/rev clip while i was playing with my carb just to get a good idea of what the idle sounds like. This is with the C90E heads and an X303, along with all the other junk on my heap.

this is random but i do not want to start another thread and im still undecided about my exhasut
what would be louder for my 88 w/off road x pipe...
mac catback
or a
94-98gt MAGNAPACK CATBACK???(ps. this kit should fit my 88 right)

no other suggestions please, im stuck on mack, but a 5.0 with magnapacks might be better than a magnaflow and possibly resemble the 4.6

I'm beginning to rethink my future choice of exhausts, leaning towards Magnaflows...

That doesn't sound like your typical Mustang, it has a good race car sound to it. I might have to get myself a Magnaflow exhaust.

Yeah see that's the beauty of these mufflers...at cruising speeds they purr like a kitten and the cops don't give me a second glance. I also noticed they really don't sound like a lot of the other Magnaflows i've heard...i'm not sure why. They only have about 2000 miles on them so they're barely broke in. I've heard they get louder once broken in so maybe that's it? Is anyone else running theirs with full lengths and an X?

The MAC might be louder, but the Magnaflow would likely sound better, IMO.

Don't bother with trying to fit an SN95 cat-back on a Fox. Just buy the muffs you want, and then buy the flow tubes (or re-use your current ones ... y'know, the pipes between the X- or H-pipe and the mufflers) and some tailpipes from Flowmaster, Dynomax, or MAC. Piece it together yourself, save money, and get exactly the sound/look that you want.

Nice! I'm running BBK LTs with an off-road X. Maybe it's because of the carb and bigger cam but although my car sounds similar, it certainly doesn't snarl like that. Then again I have no idea what my car sounds like from the outside.

Yeah you'd be surprised...even with no carpet in my interior and no sound deadening in my trunk, i had no idea it sounded as mean or as loud as it does until i saw this clip...you might wanna get a clip of yours just for laughs. I wouldn't say it's quiet inside, but it's half as loud on the interior as anything else i've ran, and on the highway it's wonderful...no drone and just a smooth growl kind of sound.

Yeah, hearing your car from the outside is just like hearing your own voice on a tape recorder.

I hear you. I'm very anxious to see how this car sounds. I made a few clips when I was running the catted X with 3-chamber Delta Flows but me and my camera man (brother) couldn't get on the same page. lol I had one sweet 3rd-4th gear run through a long tunnel only to find out "man, I wasn't recording!" "Oh, Jesus Christ" We made another pass but then he friggin started screaming and disrupted the end of the clip. Guess I'll give him a call and take another shot at it.
