I did some searching but nothing specific came up (and i know this has been brought up?)...are the Mark VIII fans single or duel speed fans? Or does the Mark VIII have a speed controller type deal that controls the fan speed?

I ask because i ran mine for about 2 months and it burned out. I lucked out and found another one in nice shape and this time before i wire it up i wanna know if there's 2 speeds like the Taurus fans have..did i have it wired up for full blast and that burned it out or was it just a fluke?

The fan is one speed, and Mark VIII car has a variable fan/fuel pump speed controller box (VCLM) in the grill, I learned that from lurking in the Mark VIII forums. I busted one of those controller boxes in the JY hoping to find a big relay, I found a 40 amp instead. I should've bought the box so I could sell the VCLM to the Mark Hate guys because they go out on them a lot and they dont have them at the dealer anymore.

Ok....i've got another question so rather than make another thread...

Who knows about the 4.6 Tbird fans? They physically look identical to the Mark VIII fans, except the plug has 4 wires and the fan is 2 speeds like the Taurus fans. I hooked the different wires up and when it's on high it seems to me like it puts out just as much air as the Mark VIII...it's pretty ridiculous. I'm wondering if my running the Mark VIII fan on high without any kind of speed controller is what burned it up...so maybe the Tbird fan on low would last longer?

Does anyone have any specs on the Tbird fan? I went ahead and picked one up just in case they're a good alternative (possibly better?) than the Mark VIII fans...they're also a LOT easier to find around here.
