I use the 275/45/R17's ........

Theres a vid on carolinarides in the forums....

RSD................................................................... -45
X2C racing seats...............................................-110
PA racing K/ arms.............................................. -90
Front 5mph crash bumper with insert................-25
Coil over all around........................................... -20
rear 5MPH crash bumper with insert..................-35
FRPP aluminum D/S and remove dogbone..........-20
Steeda aluminum LCA's and remove Quad shk.. -15
steel plate under driver dash............................. -5
remove spare/jack and rear carpet at track....... -50
removed front sway bar..................................... -25

The car still has power everything and full rims, Mach 460, 2 seats and handles better than stock with the sway bar removed......(thanks to coil overs) and has a 1
inch drop all the way around! Car weighs 3150 with me in it! If you look at the car and walk around it you would think its just another yellow stang! lol Other than just swaping parts and the only real weight redux.... I.E. remove the front and rear bumper and front sway bar.....the rest is just swapping for lighter parts! Alot of people I know just gut their car to get to this weight but I just can't part with my power goodies, music and AC! I will be adding Stage II VT cams and Patriot stage II heads within the next 2 months......should be in the 11's with full rims! Next year I will be working towards an aluminum block and Welds for the track....about another 150lbs savings and close to 3000 with driver and all the goodies!

Nice setof weight reduction mods you have there! Although I think the tubular K member weight savings are flawed.

When I replaced my stock K member and A arms, and front springs with PA racing K/A arms/ coilovers I weighed everything(both stock parts and new ones)....and I saved 58 pounds if I recal correctly. How did you save 90#s?

Does weight reduction like that really help ur times out? cuz if so i might look into that to keep my mom from freaking out everytime i spend money on making it faster. this way she would never figure out it was to make it faster.

On a 14.1 car removing 100# will reduce your et about .13
On a 12.5 car removing 100# will reduce your et about .1
The faster the car the less et increase for the 100# reduction.

Nice times at the track. But, I think your weight reduction is a "little" over stated. Everything in your list totals to 440 lbs. That is not a realistic figure representative of your weight reduction modifications. 110 lb savings with two front race seats??? The two front leather seats barely weigh that combined. 90 lbs from the k-member and control arms??

How much do you weigh?
