Man O Man

Have you guys ever seen as many Noobs as this last crop

Where do they keep comming from
and
How do they know were are here

Not a gripe or complaint or saying they shouldn't be here

On the other hand ... as it has been with all Noobs in the past

It would be nice if they all would build a sig
so
you could answer their Q's with some kind accuracy

This Place is gettin BIG ... Ain't it

Yep, lots of new guys and a few girls have found our forum over the years.

One tip I would give is to the NOOBs is use the search feature. It does actually work. And like Grady mentioned, build a sig with your mods if any. And if you have a coupe or 'vert with a manual or auto.

I lurked on here and various other sites for about a year before joining :SNSign:

Yes but to be the usual dev advocate ,this is a live forum and not just a database so why not post cause you get to "meet" new people and get a specific question answered based on your application. It's a forum so I say post.

As to the sigs, yea that would be nice.

personally the first thing I like to read is something along the lines of...

"after an exhaustive search I have a specific question for you guys"

then an accurate signature and a decent amount of background....questions will get answered a LOT faster and with a LOT less OT crap interfering...threads get off track fast, especially when everything is laid out poorly

I find the search function to be more helpful than starting a new thread in 70% of cases. typically, your problem has existed before and it has been solved before. you will get far more answers and possible solutions far faster using the search than by starting a new thread....hours vs. days

welcome everyone new, heed this thread and we shall all be happy

True, it is a live forum with people who own a Mustang that want to converse with each other. Some don't even own a Mustang. And, it is interesting to see how each of us progress with our cars and overcome issues.
:SNSign:

But for the problem solving it is nice to have the person do a search before asking. Its like a person comes on here and expects the work to be done for them. I understand that time can be an issue and a person wants to get a quick response to a question. But if you have the time to sit down and log on then you probably got enough time to do a quick search instead of waiting for someone to answer your question which might not happen quickly.

But, whatever . Post up everyone

Hey, Im probably categorized as a newb but my car is always broken and yes I do use the search and if that doesnt work then it goes into a thread. Also normally I ask Hissin questions about stuff first, before I post a thread, so he probably hates me.

There was that website that you could go back and see what the page looked like years ago. I think it gave member counts or at least post counts in that forum from the time. It is wierd at how funky things looked back then.

I dont remember the site that did that though

Not a problem at all - you're good peeps. You're often tracking down something a little esoteric and PM me regarding something I mentioned in a past thread (perhaps because I chose to adjust a setting a little bit differently than others choose to).

I'd add to Grady's list: Those keys to the right of the L and M are neat the ability to spell check is cool too they allow us to understand what you are trying to say i lose my tran of thot when im trying to depsyfur wat the thredstarter is trying to say [whole paragraph sic].

I'm no grammar freak - I make plenty of typographical errors and what-not. But make it look like you appeared to proofread the post.

And Grady, you have forgotten more than I'll ever know.

Three years ago - Bigger!! That's before they ran off anyone who liked to have fun on here. A few of these forums were MUCH busier than they are now.

About 4 years ago there weren't sub-forums like 5.0/4.6/V6/classic/... Talk. Everything car related went into the specific forum, and anything totally off topic went into the "Gene Pool." Things seemed to move a lot faster.

I usually go on stints where I won't post in the Main Talk Forum(Land of Make Believe) except for about 5 months every 2.5 years. Just a wierd habit I have.
