Sorry to have to ask but my searchs were not turning up any of the answers I was looking for.

I have been looking at replacement speakers for the Shaker system. I think that I might go with the Kicker KS680's for the front and back. I guess some people have used the DS680's but I like the KS line better. For the small difference in price I would rather have the better speakers.

The big question is what to use to replace the 8" subs in the doors? I know I could just get the Shelby kit which is Kicker but i'm not sure which model but there has to be more options. The price on the kit isn't too bad if I have to go with them.

I am seeing that the stock subs are dual voice coil and 1.2 ohms per coil.
Since just about every sub made is either 2 or 4 ohms per coil this presents a bit of an issue.

The other thing I am looking at down the road would be adding a sub or two in the trunk. Other than a line level converter what are my options? Does Pac or anyone else have something I can put inline with the factory wiring to get just a pair of RCA sub outs and amp trigger? I don't need front, rear, and subs. Just the subs. I think I read something about the J4 jack on the back of the deck. Anyone have info on this?

Not sure if it matters or not but this is in an 05 V6 5 speed Premium.

thanks for any and all help.

anyone?..

After doing more searching today I am not sure that the Shelby subs will work as direct replacements. Reading an install their complete system comes with a new amp and you only use wires from one of the voice coils not both.

I think I will be calling on Monday.
