another stupid smog pump question

where does the metal pipe that seems to go to the exhaust manifold and route forward toward the smog pump go? my hose was just crimped after the metal pipe and the smog pump is still there and theres a hose coming off of it. it looks like I'm missing something in between, can anybody help

It goes to the catalytic converter.

thanks, that diagram is exactly what I was looking for. looks like I'm missing the AIRD valve and the check valve

if you don't have to pass emmissions and have no cats the pump serves no purpose, and can very easily deleted, if you do a search there is tons of info about it
