Ok, I know the power output of my engine, 320 RWHP and 390 RWTQ. What do you think it could do at the track with some drag radials? Oh yeah, and as of now its still using the stock 3.08 gears on a built rear end and a TKO 600. I actually have a set of 3.55's waiting to be installed.

On another note, I just found a broken spark plug wire. I replaced it and now the car runs better than ever. Immediately when I got my dyno tune, it had been idling crappily when it was cold. Now with the fixed wire, it idles fine when cold. makes me wonder if it was running on only 7 cylinders when it put down the measley 320 rwhp. Would the wideband o2 have picked up on this type of thing?

Well, if you are in Colorado (USAF Academy) and are at a high elevation track I will say low 13s to high 12s.

Your car has a heavier engine, gear choice is not optimal for drag racing and your tranny is heavier and robs more power than a T5.

Why are you only making 320rwhp? You should be pulling 1hp per cubic inch at least.

Lol, sore subject. the guy who put my combo together gave me a pretty mild cam, plus only 185cc heads, and my exhaust might be somewhat restrictive as I have only 1 5/8" headers. Plus, if it was only running on 7 cylinders at the time, which I suspect, then that would decrease it also.

In a couple weeks, I got a procharger coming, so hopefully that will take care of any HP woes due to the cam.

Bummer

So you are more than likely pulling a little more than 320rwhp.

I am still gonna stick with my previous predictions on your 1/4 mile times.
If you make it to a track under a 2000' elevation I would say knock off 0.3-0.5sec.

i find these threads really hard to estimate....theres way to much to guess about traction and driver experience....to much power and crappy tires will kill you ....or a noob at the track can be a big hit.... whats your track experience? any previous times on old mods for comparisons?

Never, ever, been to the track before. I'm in the USAFA car club though, and once spring rolls around, we'll be making a few trips to a strip in Denver. I'm not expecting anything too great though since I'm a noob. Still looking forward to the experience though.

All A/F academy jokes aside, ima predict a low to mid 13 since youve never been down a track before. id say you could most likely pull a high 12 out of it once you learn to drive it

do you have a heavy clutch??
my first time to the strip in my 93 with a dual friction clutch i thought i was gonna red light....the adrediline...and a heavy pedal lol my leg was shaking so bad... i think my only test run i threw out a high 15 lol i destroyed the tires off the line haha....so i had no idea for a dial in...and figured being my 2nd run ever down a track i better put my dial in a mid 15 sec again lol....well i was much better and broke out.... thats where you run faster then your dial time....you loose 1st round eliminations suck lol.....but i say after 2-3 runs you will have a very good idea on what it will run....and as soon as you see that 3rd yellow light light up.....punch it!
