can someone explain to me how they work, what it replaces, hows its installed...basically any information that is pertinent to know before getting one. I'm debating whether i just want to stay with the basic uca/lca set up or something a bit... plus i want to keep my tail pipes on my gt and i found one anti rb that allows this...thanks in advance.

do you mean panhard bar? your car comes stock with anti-roll bars. if you mean panhard bar, i have the hp motorsports medium duty version and it is said to clear most 2.5" exhaust except the mac with the ball and socket flange on the over axle pipe. as for how they work i will save that for if you are really talking about a panhard bar.

anti-roll bar = sway bar

It is that relatively thick bar that connects to the suspension rig at both wheels and then juts out behind it. That's for the rear. In other words, look underneath your car from behind and you should see a black bar going across hanging down a bit. There is one on the front too, it is forward of the wheels and has a bit more bracing. It is what the oil drips down on when you remove the front drain plug.

Basically, a thicker bar reduces body roll and helps you have a firmer suspension. Most companies also produce the bars to be as strong as stock, but thicker and lighter weight. That way not only do you reduce body roll, you lighten your load.

Look for adjustable bars - generally has sets of bolt holes that let you pick the firmness, depending on the type of road conditions you are racing on.

A more standardized style you will see different brands of...look like this for most vehicles:

And TOO much of a thick bar will cause your car to step over the basics of what a sway bar does.

You should only look at adjusable bars when you want to have a fine tuned suspension.

The Anti roll bar is not the same as your sway bar. The Anti-Roll bar prebetns body roll and helps plant the tires evenly under launch.

The anti roll bar mounts as far forward between the frame rails as you can get with out hitting the upper arms, then the end links hang down and connect to tabs on the rear end.

I personally run and support the www.teamzmotorsports.net pieces. They are top notch, chromemoly tubing and fits like a glove. They use a bushing like most of the other bars. The UPR bar uses a roller bearing, while this sounds great once dirt gets in the bearing you can tear up the bar, plus the bar on the UPR is solid, and very heavy....

I know Dave @ Team Z can make you one to work with your tail pipes, very few will do this $275

A anti roll bar will really improve the launching consistancy at the drag strip. It is a great device....
