i pull into the garage after riding around for about 45 minutes, roll up the windows, turn the car off, put it in park, open the door, lock the doors, (not nesesarily in that order) and the theft light is blinking, little bell intermitantly chiming, lights on (no horn) like the car thinks someone broke in. I put the key back in, turn the car on, then off, take the key back out, still thinks it is being broken into. I ended up disconnecting the battery and going to bed.

Any ideas as to why this would happen, how to reset the car when it thinks it is being broken into, why the horn wouldnt be going off too, or if it will still be happening when i connect the battery back up?

It sounds like it thinks you have left the keys in the ignition or the headlights on.

On another note, if you leave a door or the trunk open and try to use the remote to lock the doors (2 presses) you will get 2 beeps from the horn.

can i blame it on alcohol atleast, my blazer has all automatic lights, mustang does not, when you turn the car off the theft light blinks on and off always, well if the lights are still on the little bell chimes to tell you "hey dumb ass, no one is braking into your car, you just left the lights on and are too stupid to figure it out", yup, my bad
